Eulogy of a Cowboy
Roles
⚖ Sheriff (HR, 1 ONLY) - A leader, sorta. Coyote Creek’s sheriff serves as a peacekeeper for their cats, and is responsible for protecting the citizens of Coyote Creek. Chosen by the people. They keep everything in check.⛓️ Sheriff’s Deputy (HR, 1 ONLY) - The Sheriff’s right-hand cat. These felines usually man the jail to ensure there are no escapees, or hang around at the Saloon.💉 Doctor (HR, 2 ONLY) - The doctors are in charge of making sure that cats of Coyote Creek are in good health. Unlike the Warrior Cat world, doctors are not expected to have any spiritual connections. They do not have apprentices, unlike the Midwife, as it’s common for any random cat to take up the job… This goes as well as you’d expect.🥀 Midwife (HR, 1 ONLY) - Special seniors. Old ladies who assist in the births and deaths that occur in Coyote Creek. These cats usually hang around in the nursery, but often travel to other homes to care for mothers and their babies. Midwives are expected to have daughters so they may train them to take over in order to preserve magic in the family <-- (Midwife Apprentice [HR, 1 ONLY])💸 Bigwig (HR, pre-determined) - Slang for government officials from El Dorado, generally disliked by the cats of Coyote Creek. Known for their posh and formal attitude.💥 Outlaw (Pre-determined, 2-4) - If a cowboy is caught committing a crime, (can be anything) they are banished from their town and become an Outlaw. There are only a few Outlaws currently residing in Coyote Creek. Usually, outlaws younger than 70 moons hide their true identity and pretend to be cowboys, but once the secret slips… Well, it doesn’t end well.🐄 Cowboy (16 MAX) - Warrior. These cats usually tend to the cattle, go hunting, or drink at the saloon after a day’s work. Can be any gender.🦌 HKTN - A regular at Coyote Creek. These cats stay in town, hanging out at the saloon or running their own businesses!👚 Caretakers - Equivalent to a queen, however instead of only taking care of the kits, or youth of Coyote Creek, they stay at home or gossip at the saloon.🍼 Coyote Creek’s Young (or Young’un) - A kitten. Also called ‘whippersnappers’ by senior residents.🧩 Juvenile - An apprentice. They usually train to become a cowboy/civilian by their parent/guardian.🏚️ Senior - An elder. Duels
Duels are an important part of western culture at Coyote Creek. They’re taken very seriously.
During a duel, a bystander counts to ten while both members are facing an equal distance from each other. Attacking too early is called a ‘quickdraw,’ and is against the rules. Caretakers, seniors, and young’uns can not partake in duels.⇢ When the bystander is finished counting down, both participants must attack. Whoever pins down the other cat first is the winner of the duel.
⇢ Any/all injuries are allowed during a duel. You may have to kill your opponent to win the duel.
⇢ The sheriff, or any bystander must /not/ interfere with a duel.
⇢ Doctors do not have to be present during a duel.
⇢ If one is challenged to a duel, refusing to take part in the fight may result in public shaming.
⇢ 1v1s ONLY! Teaming is not allowed!
⇢ Cheating in a duel will get you ARRESTED!
Terminology
Setting - Coyote Creek is located in a mostly desolate sandy "wasteland," in a well-known county called El Dorado. Taking place in the late 1800s or early 1900s, this roleplay is based on the American Wild-West era, and references the diverse cowboy culture of the time! They are NOT anthro, but do have the ability to walk on two feet if wanted.Clothing - Cats of Coyote Creek must wear clothes. Similar to the likes of ‘Puss n’ boots,’ cowboys wear shirts and jackets, along with a belt for their lasso, but no pants or shoes. For civilians, they stick to basic long sleeve shirts with a jacket or puffy skirts and accessories. The outfit of a civilian can also indicate their profession- For example, a blacksmith may wear overalls to store their tools, while a seamstress may wear fancy skirts or tops. It’s up to the players to decide how their character may dress! The bigwigs are the only cats/characters who wear truly fancy clothing. They can often be seen with silk shirts and long leather coats, along with tophats or monocles.Milk - Cats of Coyote Creek indulge in small glasses of milk, provided by the communities’ cattle. If residents want an extra kick to their drink, oregano leaves are added to up the spice. Yuck!El Dorado - Meaning "The Gold.” El Dorado is a large county, covering a vast territory of plains and desert in its wake. At the heart of the county is a large city by the same name. El Dorado, and the area around it, is known for being filled to the brim with goldmines. Could that explain why the Bigwigs want Coyote Creek so badly?Money - The main currency that most towns use are called "Pieces," (also referred to as piecings) small golden coins that are exchanged for goods or housing.Rttk Qfzstkl - Rttk Qfzstkl are very valuable, and especially with rttk becoming more and more scarce as the years pass by. One single qfzstkl can go for about 100 piece-ings.NGX- There are no patrols in Coyote Creek. Unlike the Warrior Cat World, cowboys hunt for themselves and their families, seldom for others. Prey can be anything from birds, rattlesnakes, hares, and occasionally rttk or tsa.Religion - The residents of Coyote Creek aren’t believers in StarClan.
